Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Property Inventory Student Clerk P/T will assist the department staff to ensure that the District’s fixed assets are properly identified, tagged, recorded, and accounted for in the District’s records. Will assist the department staff in filing, scanning, sending emails, and taking messages on inventory questions. Assist the department staff in conducting yearly inventory audits. Assist the department staff to ensure that the warehouses are clean and organized, and be able to lift heavy items. Assist the department in conducting transfers for departments for both campuses. Assist in disposing of damaged assets and scrap metal as approved by management.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that College policies and Property Inventory procedures are followed.
Ensure that the control number, description, cost location, and relevant information of the fixed assets purchased or donated to the District are recorded and tagged.
Ensure property transfers and disposal forms are accurate, have the proper authorization, and are recorded on a timely basis.
Assist the department staff with inventory counts of assets in departments/buildings, as assigned.
Answer phone and take messages for the Property Inventory Department.
Assist the department staff with tagging new fixed assets.
Assist the department staff in disposing of obsolete damaged furniture and equipment (including disposal of scrap metal) as approved by management.
Assist the department staff with property inventory transfers throughout buildings/campuses as requested by departments.
Assist the department staff in cleaning and organizing property inventory warehouses.
Assist the department staff with the warehouse viewing for employees and customers.
Assist the department staff with the surplus item sold are organized, packaged, and/or ready in pallets for buyer pickup.
Perform other related duties as required by the Property Inventory Manager.
- Qualifications/Certifications/Licenses/Skills

Required:
High School Graduate or GED equivalency diploma
- Active Laredo College student
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Preferred:
- Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with an emphasis in computer operations, business, and/or accounting.
- Experience and knowledge of an inventory environment at a higher institution
- Forklift Operator
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Be skilled in the use of a personal computer, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
Be able to maintain a positive attitude toward college departments, students, and employees.
Perform assignments with a high degree of accuracy and adhere to deadlines.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
